Dean Jackson said something that makes so much sense: “I want a boring business and an exciting life. Most people have an exciting business and a boring life.”
Indeed, the simpler you make things for yourself, the greater your results per time and effort expended.
But most people overthink and overcomplicate. So your business has you running in circles instead of supporting a lifestyle you really want.
Rebranding, for example. It’s fun and exciting. It feels like you’re doing something. But you’re usually focused on the many things that matter little – rather than the few things that matter a lot.
Ice cream tastes better than gasoline, but it doesn’t belong in your gas tank.
What’s a “brand” anyway?
It’s simply this: A reflection of how your ideal customers perceive you.
If a pizza store re-brands and promotes itself as a great place for a romantic anniversary dinner, will that really change anyone’s perception? Will Harvey take Marge there for their 50th instead of the elegant Italian place with low lighting, highly trained waiters and a chef with a perfectionist gene?
‘Course not.
Well, if rebranding isn’t the way to get more amazing clients, then what is? What DOES change their perception?
The FUNDAMENTALS. Primarily your message. And the small things you do.
It’s why you perceive one friend differently than another. It’s the small things they do.
So what if you could identify the FEW things that will make a BIG difference for your business?
Well, for one, you could keep things simple even while attracting more and better clients.
And the best way that I know of to keep your business simple is to implement the Five Steps to A Consistent Flow of Customers.
On Thursday, July 12th at 12noon eastern, I’ll be doing a free CASE STUDY teleseminar with my client Kyle Hunt.
Kyle is the leading marketing consultant to the remodeling industry in the United States.
We’re going to walk you through how we implemented the Five Steps in Kyle’s business.
To get the call-in details, just subscribe here and you’ll get the call-in details on the day of the call.
Kyle was doing six figures before we started working. But he’d plateaued.
When you hear how we implemented the Five Steps for Kyle’s business, you’ll immediately get ideas for implementing them in your own business.
Put it on your calendar now and plan to join Kyle and myself on Thursday,July 12th 2012 at 12 noon eastern.
