When I DECIDED that I would not accept less than $x for coaching or consulting, a funny thing happened:
I started getting clients at $x.
And when I DECIDED that I wouldn’t accept less than $xx, a funny thing happened:
I started enrolling clients at $xx.
But before I DECIDED, I was in a kind of no-man’s land.
I wanted to raise my fees, but I was worried. Will people pay?
Heck, there were others out there charging – and getting – far more. And they’re not as good. I should be able to get $xx!
I mean, c’mon. Sure, I wanted to charge $xx, but I’d be willing to accept $x if that would be the deal breaker, you-know-what-I-mean?
And you go back and forth and back and forth in your own head.
And you know what happened while I was in this quasi-in-between-no-man’s land?
Lost opportunities.
Because wanting to charge more, but not being committed to it, is not DECIDING to charge more.
You can’t go out there with a maybe-sorta-I-think kind of price for your expertise.
You need to make a decision. A firm decision. You will be charging $xx because that’s what you’re worth. And if someone’s ready to pay, great. If not, they can continue trying to figure it out on their own.
Or they can start with one of your less expensive products.
I see this again and again when talking to a coach, consultant or expert who WANTS to change things. But they don’t make a FIRM decision that they WILL change things.
It’s amazing how much you can achieve when you simply DECIDE that you will no longer settle for less.
The world has a way of sending you what you demand. What you decide you’re worth.
If you’re tired of settling, and ready to DECIDE that this year will be different, check this out.
